During almost 25 years in business, consumer behaviours have changed beyond recognition and so have our retailers. This pace of change will never stop, and we relish in this challenge.
The future will see us reduce plastic consumptions to minority levels, buy homecare products differently, improve our diets with healtier eating, nourish our skin with only natural ingredients, which is the sustainable sourcing and manufacturing we need to safeguard our planet.
If you are looking for your next challenge or want to join a business where you have the autonomy to add value in whatever you do, we would love to hear from you.
We are an international and diverse business, with offices globally, across the UK, South Africa, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Vietnam. We cherish our multi-cultural and dynamic teams.
Our creativity, expertise and determination with the strong relationships we continue to nurture will propel us through challenges, wherever we find them. We will deepen our knowledge and broaden our flexibility to push new boundaries and find new ways to add value in all we do. Our own value is in the quality of our people, and as a result, they are the defining qualities of our brand.

My working life has always involved being in a creative role, starting as a designer and progressing very quickly into a career of product development with a rewarding period of working within education teaching art and creative skills to special needs children.
Through my working life I’ve had the privilege of working with Anthony Balkin, being one of my first bosses who took me under his wing and guided me through my start of life within Business. The direction of my career coincided with an opportunity Anthony presented and after finding out more about the infrastructure and culture at Solent, and way the staff are appreciated it was hard not to accept the offer of joining. One of the most exciting aspects for me was the innovative approach to product within an ever-changing world where social responsibility and sustainability is crucial.
I feel like I’m ‘seen’ within the company and have the full support of the teams around me from offices in the Far East, technical and the design studio I feel like I am part of a big family all with the same goal. Personally, I have the opportunity to grow, develop and learn new things continuously, even after 4 years with Solent I’m still excited by the potential and opportunities ahead.
The endless opportunities of moving into new and exciting categories and new licences excited me the most. The pleasure of working daily with a creative and committed design team that support me every step of the way and help bring the vision to life.
My drive comes from the reward of seeing my product and ranges delivered into market. Nothing feels more fulfilling than seeing the ranges I’ve developed on shelf in store or being promoted by the licenses & celebrities I get to work with.
Before joining Solent I was a development team leader for Fashion Bag and Luggage. I saw the role at Solent as a way of developing my career in a forward-thinking/well-established company/industry as a senior buying manager.
In the past 5 years, Solent has provided the opportunity for me to invest and develop product knowledge while I am able to participate and contribute to different lines of products such as Beauty, Household and bags. My interpersonal skills have also vastly improved, especially with great support from our management team.
Market research and brainstorming with the team and factories is always my source of inspiration. My motivation has come from the passion of my team and appreciation from all parties. Product innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving are the most exciting parts of my role.
Before joining Solent Group, I was undertaking my Business Studies with Project Management & Operations Bachelors degree at Bournemouth University. I worked at GlaxoSmithKline during my placement year, I continued to work in supply chain alongside my studies at Reid Steel.
I resonated with the Solent values, making it a great fit for me. Solent is dedicated to the development of its’ people, and I could see my career growing within the company. I started at Solent as a graduate in a Supply Chain Coordinator role, I built my skills in reporting, speaking with data and building relationships with the team. I then moved into the Supply Chain Project Manager role, a completely new role to the company, allowing me to make it my own and set the precedent for how projects are undertaken in Supply Chain.
As a Project Manager, you’re working on something different every week, I enjoy the diversity of the role and the challenges it brings. My biggest source of inspiration and motivation is my progress, looking how far I’ve come in a short space of time and the determination to achieve the goals I set for myself.
As a business, we’re passionate about the charities we support and partner with. We encourage our global employees to take part in volunteering or fundraising opportunities to help make a very real difference to the lives of the people our charities support.
Solent are proud supporters of Honeypot Children’s charity in the UK. As a national young carers’ charity, their countryside respite houses and range of support services give young carers, with responsibilities beyond their years, the chance to be a child again.
Through fundraising events and volunteering days, we have helped to support and maintain the charitable houses Honeypot operate across the country. Solent are also extremely proud to gift a birthday card and Christmas present to every child the charity supports each year.
